Dead End Service
Triad’s butterfly valve range which includes the 700 series resilient seated and the ST series high performance valves are both designed for dead end installations. Dead end service refers to installing a lug style butterfly valve at the end of a pipeline without any downstream piping or flanges. If the valve is designed for this it will seal bubble tight against its maximum design pressure. Lug style butterfly valves from both the Triad 700 series and ST series are designed for dead end service. The 700 series uses a unique retention lip cast in the body to hold the seat intact without the need for a downstream flange.
